Born in 1985, I live in Budapest with my wife and our son. I hold a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Karadeniz Technical University and an MBA from Bahçeşehir University. Throughout my career, I have worked in managerial roles on large-scale industrial and energy projects, including dams and nuclear power plants, across different parts of the world. My professional life has taken me to many places, but what I do outside work is just as important to me.
My greatest passion is the natural world, especially birds. I spend a significant amount of my free time in the field looking for and identifying wildlife, with birds at the center of that passion. Mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and just about anything else worth stopping to look at can capture my attention as well. Photography naturally became part of this interest, allowing me to document the species and moments I encounter.
This passion has also taken me far beyond my home. Some of my most memorable travels have been driven primarily by the desire to see wildlife and experience nature in places I would otherwise never have visited. I have travelled to Nepal, Kenya, Uganda, and Chile for this purpose, including Punta Arenas in the far south of Patagonia. I once spent around 19.5 hours on a flight to Santiago simply because there were birds waiting for me at the other end. Ecuador is already on my plans, and places such as West Papua are among the destinations I hope to explore in the future. I am also actively involved in the birding community as an eBird Reviewer and Hotspot Editor for both Türkiye and Hungary, and as a member of the Turkish Bird Records Committee.
Another defining part of my life is music, and more specifically, heavy metal. I have been passionate about metal music for many years, and concerts and festivals are among my favorite ways to spend my time. I have attended Wacken Open Air and many other live shows, and for me heavy metal is much more than a musical genre. It is a culture, a community, and one of the things that has been a constant and important part of my life for many years.
I am equally enthusiastic about books and films. I have read and rated more than 700 books, and contribute to the Goodreads community as a Librarian. I have also rated more than 1,200 films, with a particular fondness for drama. Reading and cinema are two of the ways I satisfy my curiosity about people, ideas, history, and the world around me.
Games are another important part of my life. I have spent countless hours exploring virtual worlds, from the vast landscapes and stories of Red Dead Redemption 2 to the dark fantasy of the Diablo series, the dystopian future of Cyberpunk 2077, and the underwater world of BioShock. For me, great games are another form of storytelling, exploration, and immersion.
In recent years, physical well-being has also become a central part of my daily life. Running and swimming are now regular parts of my routine, and I enjoy setting personal goals, making steady progress, and challenging myself to become a little better than I was before.
Looking across all these interests, there is probably one common thread: curiosity. I like exploring unfamiliar places, observing the world closely, discovering new species, listening to loud music, reading, watching films, getting lost in virtual worlds, and staying active. This website is simply a place where I can bring some of those interests together and share the things I discover along the way.
